The Hermetic Consistory Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the study, preservation, and public education of philosophy, history, theology, ethics, and science. All activities, publications, and programs support our charitable and educational mission.

11. Code of Conduct and Participant Responsibilities

The Hermetic Consistory Foundation (“the Foundation”) is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and intellectually honest environment for all individuals engaged with its programs, events, educational offerings, and digital platforms. By accessing or participating in any Foundation activities, individuals agree to abide by the following standards:

11.1 Respectful Communication

All participants must communicate in a civil, courteous, and constructive manner. Respect for diverse viewpoints, backgrounds, and traditions is expected at all times. Disagreements should be expressed with intellectual integrity and without personal attacks or inflammatory language.

11.2 Harassment-Free Engagement

The Foundation has zero tolerance for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse or derogatory speech

  • Sexual harassment or inappropriate physical contact

  • Threats, intimidation, bullying, or stalking (online or offline)

Individuals who engage in such behavior may be subject to immediate removal and further administrative action.

11.3 Academic and Intellectual Integrity

Participants shall:

  • Represent their identity and qualifications truthfully

  • Refrain from plagiarism, falsifying sources, or misrepresenting research

  • Respect the confidentiality of sensitive discussions or unpublished materials shared within the community

11.4 Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination

The Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, or socioeconomic status. Any discriminatory conduct or exclusionary behavior is strictly prohibited.

11.5 Event Conduct and Etiquette

During Foundation-hosted events, both online and in-person, individuals must:

  • Follow instructions from organizers and facilitators

  • Avoid disruptive or distracting behavior

  • Participate in good faith and respect time limits, turn-taking, and space use

Solicitation, campaigning, or unauthorized recordings are not permitted unless explicitly approved.

11.6 Reporting Violations

Violations of this Code may be reported to the Foundation’s leadership through designated reporting channels. All reports will be treated confidentially to the extent possible and reviewed in a timely and impartial manner.

11.7 Consequences of Violations

The Foundation reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to Code of Conduct violations. These may include:

  • Warnings (verbal or written)

  • Revocation of event access

  • Suspension or termination of participation or affiliation

  • Referral to legal authorities when warranted

Continued involvement in Foundation activities constitutes ongoing agreement with this Code and all other applicable policies.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
